Owls look to extend home win streak to 17 games

PHILADELPHIA - Temple will look to extend its home court winning streak to 17 games Wednesday night (7:00 p.m./The Comcast Network) when the Owls (13-5, 3-2 A-10) host the Charlotte 49ers (9-10, 1-4)in the friendly confines of the Liacouras Center. Temple is a perfect 8-0 this season in its arena, and owns a 39-6 mark (.866) since the 2007-08 season.
The Owls, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Fran Dunphy, are coming off an 88-77 loss at A-10 co-leader Xavier Saturday. Junior Scootie Randall (9.9 ppg.) exploded for a career high 28 points against the Musketeers, marking the second straight game that an Owl set a new scoring mark. Sophomore Khalif Wyatt (8.3 ppg.), who came off the bench to contribute 19 points, set his personal best with 27 points in the team's win over Penn in the previous game.
Junior Ramone Moore (14.9 ppg.) continues to pace the Owls attack and has scored in double-figures in 13 straight games and 16 overall. Junior Juan Fernandez (10.4 ppg.), who has scored just 23 points in the three games since returning to the lineup, has struggled of late due to a bone bruise on his left knee. Senior Lavoy Allen (10.1 ppg.) paces the team in rebounding (6.0 rpg.) and is just 28 caroms shy of 1,000 for his career.
Charlotte, under the direction of first-year coach Alan Major, boasts three double-figure scorers led by junior guard Derrio Green (13.3 ppg.). Sophomore guard Jamar Briscoe (13.0 ppg.) is right behind his backcourt mate in scoring while sophomore Chris Braswell (10.5 ppg., 7.1 rpg.) has posted three double-doubles in A-10 play.
Temple and Charlotte have split 10 meetings in the series, with each program posting perfect 4-0 records on its home floor.
