Temple’s Games With Ohio & Miami Moved to ESPN

Most National Televised Games in a Season in School History
CLEVELAND – The Temple football games at Ohio (Wed., Nov. 2) and at home against Miami [OH] (Wed., Nov. 9) have been moved from ESPN2 to ESPN, the Mid-American Conference and ESPN announced on Wednesday.
Both games will kick off at 8 p.m. before a national television audience.
A total of 10 Temple football games will be televised live this fall, including eight contests carried nationally. Ten games tie the most televised contests in program history from the 2000 season, while the eight nationally televised games are the most in a season.
The ESPN-televised game between Temple and Penn State on Sept. 17 had a 1.6 national rating, which translates into 1,610,190 households and 1,952,851 viewers – a Temple football record. In comparison, Pitt at Iowa, televised by ESPN2 garnered a 0.8/741,565 HH/952,531 viewers, while West Virginia at Maryland on ESPNU had a 0.7/477,949 HH/775.120 viewers.
Locally, the game averaged a 6.7 rating with a high of 10.0 in the final 15 minutes of the telecast. The rating translates to 202,663 viewers in the Philadelphia DMA (Designated Market Area). It also was viewed in 43.6 percent of households using televisions (HUT).
Temple (4-2, 2-1 MAC) hosts Buffalo (2-4, 1-1 MAC) in its annual Homecoming game, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery, on Saturday, Oct. 15. Kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field is set for 1 p.m. The 2011 Temple Sports Hall of Fame Inductees will be introduced at halftime.
