Filip Rams, Kacper Rams and Mansur Gishkaev all still playing

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Temple men's tennis team sent Filip and Kacper Rams, and Mansur Gishkaev, to the ITA Men's Atlantic Regional Championship, being held at the University of Virginia on October 20-25, 2011, at the Snyder Tennis Center. Gishkaev played singles, while the Rams' duo was active in the singles main draw, and teamed up for doubles play.

After dropping his opening match in the singles qualifying draw, Gishkaev was active in the consolation round. The senior dropped a challenging 7-6, 6-3, match to Georgetown's Charlie Carls.

In singles main draw action, Filip Rams took on Virginia Commonwealth's Alexis Huegas in the round of 64. Huegas proved too much to handle for the senior captain, handing Filip a 6-4, 6-0, defeat.

Kacper was also active in the round of 64 on Saturday. The junior took on Virginia's Steven Rooda, falling 6-2, 7-6 (4).

In doubles play, the brothers defeated Navy's Calvin Mark and Marcus Rebersak in the round of 32, 8-3. They will take on top-seeded and nationally ninth-ranked Maros Horny and John Collins of Maryland on Sunday.
