Bobby Rosato Picks Up A-10 and Philly Soccer Six Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - In the final men's soccer weekly reports of the season, sophomore Bobby Rosato has collected Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week and Philadelphia Soccer Six Co-Player of the Week honors.

Rosato earns the recognitions after he pitched his fifth shutout in net this season and helped the Owls clinch their second straight A-10 Tournament berth on Friday afternoon by holding the La Salle Explorers scoreless in Temple's hard-fought 1-0 win. In the city-rival match, Rosato turned away all six La Salle scoring chances.

Despite losing to A-10 regular season champion Fordham on Sunday, Rosato put up his most impressive effort of the season, making a career-high 14 saves in goal. The Downingtown, Pa. native had a clean sheet through the first 106 minutes against the Rams, as the teams battled out a scoreless deadlock into double overtime. 

Rosato started every game for the Owls in net this season, where he recorded a 9-9-0 record and made 74 saves, while posing a 1.33 goals against average and a .755 save percentage.

The Owls will look to Rosato once agin when they head to Hermann Stadium out in St. Louis, Mo. for Thursday night's A-10 Tournament matchup with the La Salle Explorers at 8:30 p.m.
