Filip Rams picks up lone singles win for Owls

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. –
The Temple men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Atlantic 10 favorite George Washington on Saturday evening in a match played at Arthur Ashe Tennis Center. The Owls fall to 5-3 on the season.

The Cherry and White took an early lead with a doubles point victory after wins at number two and three. Junior Filip Rams and freshman Taylor Hairston teamed up at number two for a 9-8 (2) win, while junior Dmitry Vizhunov and sophomore Kacper Rams won by the same score at the third flight.

Filip Rams increased TU's lead to 2-0 when he made quick work of Ugur Atalay at number one, winning 6-1, 6-3. That was the only other point the Owls would get, however, as the Colonials 2-6 singles players defeated the rest of Temple's squad in straight-sets.

The Owls are back in action on Sunday, February 20, at Monmouth at 3 p.m.
