PHILADELPHIA
- The Temple women's track & field team is set to compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships beginning Friday in Kingston, R.I.  The Owls have their sights set on improving the team's school-record tying third place finish from a year ago.

Temple has received contributions from across the board this season, with top performers ranging from freshman to senior.  In the short sprints, freshman Ambrosia Iwugo leads the Owls in the 60m and 200m dash, posting season-best times of 7.89 and 25.31, respectively.

Senior Paris Williams, the 2009 A-10 Indoor Performer of the Year, takes over from there.  Williams owns the Owls' top 300m, 400m and 500m times of the year, as well as being a key member of the conference's fastest 4x400m squad.  Classmate Tashima Stephens has dominated the 800m run for Temple, boasting a season-best time of 2:14.79.

Another senior, Assata Cowart, leads the Owls in the 1000m.  Cowart broke the school-record in the event at the NYRR Saturday Night at the Armory with a time of 2:55.78, a mark that ranks eighth in the conference.

In the throws, junior Alanna Owens has been the most consistent competitor for Temple.  Owens leads Temple in both the shot put and weight throw, ranking third and fourth in the conference respectively in those events.

The championships will be split between two days, with action starting at 9:00am on Friday. Complete results and live stats will be available online through the A-10 website (www.atlantic10.com).
