Women's Gymnastics Set To Host Ken Anderson Memorial Invitational On Saturday

Owls to celebrate Senior Day and alumni homecoming
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's gymnastics team is set to celebrate Senior Day and Alumni Homecoming as the Owls host the Ken Anderson Memorial Invitational in McGonigle Hall on Saturday, February 5 at 1:00 p.m. Temple will be competing at home for the only time this season, hosting Towson, West Chester, William & Mary and Ursinus.
Prior to the start of competition, Temple will be honoring a senior class that head coach Aaron Murphy holds a special place for, as it represents his first full recruiting class. Katie Canning, Kathryn Ho, Chelsea Lapent, Marissa Oxenford and Chelsea Troutman will be performing for the final time in McGonigle Hall on Saturday.
The Owls are on a roll as of late, posting wins over Ursinus and Southern Connnecticut State in the team's last two meets. Temple is currently ranked sixth in the ECAC with a team average of 188.092, with the Owls season-best team score of 189.625 ranks fifth in the conference.
Freshman Sylvie Borschel is off to a great collegiate debut, ranking fifth in the conference on balance beam with a season average of 9.638. On floor, junior Corrine Williams leads the way for the Owls, ranking 12th in the ECAC with an average of 9.663. Ho has been the most consistent competitor on uneven bars for the Cherry and White, owning a season average of 9.433 that ranks 14th in the conference. Junior Alexandra Uscatu ranks 17th in the conference on vault, boasting a season average of 9.533.
Towson is the top ranked team in the conference, currently boasting a season average of 191.517. The Tigers are led by all-arounder Alexa Davis, who ranks third in the ECAC with a season average of 38.350 and first with an uneven bars average of 9.658. William & Mary sits fourth in the conference rankings with a season average of 189.413 and is led by the ECAC's top balance beam competitor in Kristina Beck (9.788).
Action is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in McGonigle Hall with admission free for all who attend.
