Stephens runs season-best in 800m

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Several members of the Temple women's track and field team competed at the Armory Collegiate Challenge, held Friday night at the 168th Street Armory in New York City. Senior Tashima Stephens ran a season best in the 800m, while sophomore Jade Wilson did the same in the 60m hurdles.

Stephens placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:14.74, nearly meeting ECAC qualifying marks. Senior Shadaya Bennett also fared well in the heat, placing fifth with a time of 2:15.51 - also a season-best.

Wilson clocked in two season-highs in the 60m hurdles, turning in a qualifying time of 8.96 and a finals time of 8.92, good enough for fifth place. She also competed in the 500m, running a time of 1:16.76 to place fourth while classmate Tessa West placed fifth in a time of 1:16.86.

Members of the team that met qualifying marks this season will be competing in the ECAC Championships this weekend, held in Boston, Mass.
