Nationally ranked Rams too much for Temple

Box Score

RICHMOND, Va. –
The #53 team in the country Virginia Commonwealth was too much for the Temple men's tennis team to handle, knocking off the Owls 7-0 on Friday, March 11, 2011. TU drops to 7-4 with the loss, while VCU improves to 13-3.

The Rams wasted little time getting on the winning side, taking all three doubles matches to claim that point.

It was much of the same in singles play, with VCU winning five of the six matches in straight sets. Junior Dmitry Vizhunov made things interesting for Temple, winning his first set at number four, 6-4. His opponent, Antoine Baroz, rebounded with a 6-3 win in the second, and kept the shutout intact with a 10-2 super tiebreaker set.

The Owls continue their spring break swing through Virginia with a 12 p.m. match at Norfolk State on Saturday.
