Women's Gymnastics Takes Second At Penn Quad-Meet

Owls post team score of 191.200, place second to California

PHILADELPHIA
- The Temple women's gymnastics team took second place at the Penn Quad-Meet, scoring a team total of 191.200 to outplace host Penn and Southern Connecticut State on Sunday afternoon.  Junior Corrine Williams posted a pair of third place finishes to highlight action in the final regular season meet for the Owls.

California took top honors with a team score of 193.325, followed by the Owls, Penn (191.125) and Southern Connecticut State (188.450).

Williams, leading Temple and placing fifth all-around (37.975), placed third on floor (9.825) and on balance beam (9.775).  Senior Marissa Oxenford aided her efforts on beam, placing fifth with a score of 9.750.

Junior Kaity Watson placed in the top 10 on floor for the Owls, scoring 9.700 to place eighth.  Watson led the Owls on uneven bars, scoring 9.675 to place sixth overall.  Williams and junior Alexandra Uscatu tied for sixth on vault to lead Temple, posting scores of 9.600.

Temple travels to Providence, R.I., for the ECAC Championships on March 19, hosted by Brown University.
