NEWARK, Del. - Despite tying Delaware in the second half, a first-half deficit proved too much to overcome as the Temple lacrosse team fell by a score of 14-9 at Delaware on Saturday afternoon. The Owls (1-5) got a hat trick from sophomore Stephany Parcell, while the Blue Hens (3-5) were led by Julianna Jeffers with four goals.

Delaware scored the first five goals of the game before Temple's Jackie Mercer got the Owls on the board with 10:49 left in the first half. Stephanie Markunas added a free position goal for Temple with six minutes left, but the Owls trailed 7-2 at the break.

The Blue Hens kept a solid lead in the second half, but Temple was able to keep pace as the teams scored seven goals apiece. The Owls made a 3-1 run in the final six minutes, in which Parcell recorded a goal and an assist.

Temple will be back in action on Tuesday, March 22 as the Owls travel to Towson for a 3:00 p.m. game.
