Women's 4x800m Places Fourth In Finals At ECAC Championships

Cowart, Stephens, Smith and Bennett cruise to fourth place finish
BOSTON, Mass. - The Temple women's track & field relay teams had a fine showing on the final day of competition at the ECAC Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Center on Sunday. The 4x800m relay team cruised to a fourth place finish in the finals, while the 4x400m team finished seventh.
The 4x8, made up of seniors Assata Cowart, Shadaya Bennett, Tashima Stephens and sophomore Tonney Smith, ran a time of 8:53.13 - 10 seconds faster than the squad's season-best and school record. The 4x4, comprised of senior Paris Williams, sophomores Sheina Roberts and Jade Wilson and freshman Ambrosia Iwugo, clocked in at 3:47.08 to place seventh.
Cowart competed in the 500m finals, running a time of 1:15.29 to finish ninth. Junior Alanna Owens competed in the weight throw for the Owls, finishing 26th with a toss of 47-11.00
