Kickoff Set for 10 a.m. on April 16

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University football has announced its rosters for the annual Cherry & White intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. at the Edberg-Olson Complex (11th & Diamond Streets).
The Cherry squad, coached by Scot Loeffler [OC/QB],Sean Cronin [DL], Tyree Foreman [RB], Sean McGowan [ILB], and Zach Smith [WR/ST], features senior C John Palumbo, junior RB Bernard Pierce, senior TE Evan Rodriguez, senior QB Chester Stewart, senior LB Quinten White, and senior LB Tahir Whitehead.
The White squad, coached by Chuck Heater [DC/DB], Ben Albert [OLB], Justin Frye [OL], Matt Rhule [Asst. OC /TE/Recruiting Coord.], and Frank Piraino [Strength], features senior DE Morkeith Brown, junior DE Kadeem Custis, junior QB Mike Gerardi, senior DB Kevin Kroboth, senior DE Adrian Robinson, and senior WR Rod Streater.
Under the guidance of first-year head coach Steve Addazio, this season's squad returns 46 lettermen, including 13 starters.
Format for the scrimmage includes 12-minute quarters with a running clock and normal game scoring. Quarterbacks are not live (no tackling), and kicking will only occur in scoring situations. There will be no special teams.
The Owls open the 2011 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 with Villanova in the third annual Mayor's Cup, sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, at Lincoln Financial Field.
