Women's Track & Field In Action On Saturday At Penn Relays

Owls' 4x8 places fifth
PHILADELPHIA - The Owls' 4x800m relay team placed fifth and the 4x400m relay took fourth in the ECAC Championship race to highlight action for the Temple women's track & field team at the Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field.
The 4x800m relay, made up of seniors Shadaya Bennett and Tashima Stephens, freshman Tonney Smith and sophmore Victoria Gocht, ran 8:54.55 to place fifth. The 4x200m relay team, comprised of Crystal Hercules, Dia Dorsey, Tessa West and Gennie Depass, ran in qualifying action on Friday, placing 35th with a time of 1:41.69. The 4x400m relay, freshman Ambrosia Iwugo, Stephens, senior Assata Cowart and Gocht, ran a time of 3:41.57 to place fourth in the ECAC Championship section.
Up next for the Owls are the Atlantic 10 Championships, held May 7-8 at Charlotte.
