Golf Tied for 8th After First Day at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, NJ - Freshman Connor McNicholas shot a six over-par 148 to help lead the Temple men's golf team to an eighth place tie with Columbia after the first day of competition at the Princeton Invitational held at the par 71 Springdale Golf Club. The Owls shot a two-round total of 601, two shots behind seventh-place Harvard. First-place Yale led the event with a three under-par 565.
McNicholas, who tied for 19th overall, was followed by freshman Steve Burak (73-77, 150), who tied for 26th among the 68 golfers. Senior Andrew Mason (75-76, 151) was tied for 30th while sophomore Devin Bibeau (79-73, 152) was tied for 38th. Senior Mark Edmondson (77-76, t-41st) and freshman Russell Hartung (80-79, 159, t-63rd) rounded out the Owl golfers.
Play concludes with a final round on Sunday.
