COOPERTOWN, NJ - Temple women's Varsity 8 advanced to the semifinals at the 2011 Knecht Cup Saturday to highlight the Owls' day on the Cooper River.
The Varsity 8 placed third in its morning heat with a time of 7:13.85 to edge out Connecticut for the qualifying spot in the semifinals. The Owls, however, placed fifth in the semifinal heat.
The Owls' varsity 4 and 2nd Varsity 8 each placed fifth in their heats.
The Knecht Cup concludes Sunday.
