HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA - Temple alum Andrew Mason ('11) carded a competitive course-record five under-par 135 to win the prestigious 107th Open Championship held at Huntingdon Valley Country Club on Wednesday July 20th.
Mason, who was playing on his home course, was the lone golfer in the 72-player field to shoot under par for the 36-hole Golf Association of Philadelphia. Connor McNicholas, who will be entering his sophomore year at Temple in the fall, tied for 15th with a nine-over par 149.
Mason, a three-time all-conference honoree during his Temple career, is a Huntingdon Valley native. He also won the qualifier with a five-under round of 66 on June 22 at Riverton Country Club in Cinnaminson, N.J.
