On the final day at the Amateur Championship, Mason carded the lowest score of the day, a 71, to finish his three rounds with a par 210. That was one stroke better than Messiah College's Matthew Burkhart (211).

"This is hard to put into perspective right now," Mason told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Obviously it's the best week of my golfing career. It's really just an honor to win today after the other honor last week. I'm really happy."

Mason drained a 15-foot putt on the 18th the seal his one-over 71. He then waited as Burkhart, playing one group behind, bogeyed the 17th to fall one stroke back. The Lancaster, Pa. native parred the final hole, enabling Mason to win his second championship in a week.

"I'm proud because I didn't hit it well on the back nine," Mason said in his interview with the Inquirer. "I did not make a putt all week until the three [par saves] I made on the back nine today. They were good putts.

"I guess it went my way. I was happy to see them fall. They were the only putts I made all week, so I'll take them."

Mason had played the front nine in a two-under 33, but posted a three-over on the back. His 15-foot "save" on the final hole came after a 70-foot putt from the back fringe of the green overshot the hole.
