Hairston wins fifth singles flight
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore Taylor Hairston earned the fifth flight singles championship with a 2-1 weekend at the Navy Blue Invite on Friday-Sunday, September 9-11, 2011.
Hairston was one of two Temple singles winners as the Owls faced Navy on the final day of the round robin tournament on Sunday. The sophomore came back from a first set loss to defeat Blake Daniel, 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (13-11), at number five. Temple's other winner was Filip Rams, who was a 6-0, 7-5 winner over Marcus Rebersak at the first flight.
In doubles play, Filip and Kacper Rams defeated Rebersak and Anderson Walls, 8-3.
TU will be in action again next weekend at the ITA All-American Championship in Tulsa, Okla., October 1-9.
