Tim Thiess Hired as Temple’s Athletics Business Manager

PHILADELPHIA – Temple alum Tim Thiess ('08) has been hired as the department's Athletics Business Manager after holding positions at Rutgers and Villanova since graduating from the University.
Thiess will assist with the oversight of day-to-day business operations as well as with the development, management, and oversight of the athletics budget.
“We are very excited to welcome Tim back to his alma mater as our Athletics Business Manager,” said Harry Metzinger, who previously held the position and now serves as Temple's Assistant Athletics Director for Finance & Administration. “Tim's strong business background, demonstrated ability to take on additional responsibilities, and customer service skills have prepared him to become an integral part of Temple Athletics. He is a great fit for this role.”
Thiess comes to Temple from Rutgers, where he was first their Accounting Assistant and then their Assistant Ticket Manager for the last three-plus years. As Assistant Ticket Manager, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of their Athletics Ticket Office. Tim earned his Business/Accounting Certificate while employed at the university. Prior to his stint at Rutgers, Thiess worked for the Villanova Athletics Department as a ticket office intern and athletics business office intern.
Graduating Temple with cum laude honors in January, 2008, Thiess earned his bachelor's degree in sport and recreation management with a minor in business.
