PHILADELPHIA – In its first release of the 2011 season, the Philadelphia Soccer Six has tabbed Temple junior Cody Calafiore and sophomore goalkeeper Bobby Rosato with honorable mention for their outstanding efforts over the first two weeks of the season. The two Temple honorees join La Salle's Jeff Pio on the honorable mention list.
Rosato was recognized for his effort in net in the team's first game of the season when they took on the Lafayette Leopards. Getting the nod to start for the first time in his collegiate career, Rosato secured Temple's 1-0 shutout victory by making two critical saves against the Leopards.
This past weekend when the Owls participated in the Brown Soccer Classic, Calafiore was a factor early on in Friday's meeting against Holy Cross. Seventeen seconds into the match, the junior midfielder had his team on the board when he scored an empty net from 25 yards out. Later on in the contest with the Owls already up two goals, Calafiore gave his team extra insurance when he found the back of the net for his second goal of the game.
Also receiving recognition this week by the Philadelphia Soccer Six were Penn's Duke Lacroix and Villanova goalkeeper John Fogarty as its first two Players of the Week, respectively.
