PHILADELPHIA - In its latest release, the Philadelphia Soccer Six committee has awarded junior Matt MacWilliams honorable mention for last week's efforts. MacWilliams put up a three-point night against the Jacksonville Dolphins in Temple's first match of the Stetson Soccer Classic on Friday.
The Lansdale, Pa. native had a hand in senior Tyler Witmer's goal early on in the contest before scoring the Owls' third goal of the game in the 16th minute.
After an offensive surge that produced two goals in the second half for Jacksonville, MacWilliams' goal proved to be the game-winning touch for Temple.
Joining MacWilliams on the honor roll were St. Joseph's Andrew D'Ottavi, La Salle's Jason Plumhoff and Drexel's Pnetti Pussinen. The University of Pennsylvania's Stephen Baker took Player of the Week honors.
MacWilliams and the Owls (3-2-0) get back to action Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. when they take on Long Island at the Ambler Sports Complex.
