PHILADELPHIA – Temple University Athletics has promoted Jennifer White to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services.
White has served as the Assistant Director for the department since January 2010 and was formerly the Compliance & Student Services Coordinator when she started at Temple in October 2007.
“This was a great opportunity to recognize Jennifer for her efforts and commitment to Temple,” said Sherryta Freeman, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services. “She is a valuable member of our team, and our department will continue to improve with her additional responsibilities.”
In her new position, White will take on a leadership role within the department, including sport oversight functions. From a compliance standpoint, she will maintain her current responsibilities while also taking a more active role in the management of all compliance operations for the department, including the development of an educational plan for coaches, the compilation and submission of NCAA reports and other special projects.
“I am really excited to have this opportunity and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead,” White said.
Prior to joining the Owls, the Manalapan, N.J., native worked as a Compliance Coordinator at Seton Hall University. She assisted with NCAA eligibility and recruiting policies, as well as overseeing the National Girls and Women in Sports Day event.
White was an assistant track and field/cross country coach at Bryn Mawr College during the 2005-06 season, while pursuing a master's degree.
A 2004 graduate of Lafayette College, White was a four-year member of the Leopard track and field team. A two-time captain, she was the recipient of the Henry Richard Jahn Trophy, an award for leadership in athletics. She was also active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She earned her master's degree in sports management from Neumann College in May 2007.
