Women’s Rowing Competes at Head of Charles Regatta

BOSTON— The Temple women's rowing team traveled to Boston, Mass. on Saturday to compete in the Head of Charles Regatta.
The Owls Club Four, comprised of Eleanor Oken (coxswain), Paige O' Sullivan (4 seat), Claudia Loeber (3 seat), Joanna Sutor (2 seat) and Kara Carson (bow), placed seventh out of 45 boats with a time of 19:36.60. TBC Racing went on to win the race with a time of 19:16.70, followed by Boston University with a time of 19:17.09.
The Rest of the Owls stayed behind to compete in the Philadelphia Children's Foundation Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
Temple's Collegiate 8+ “B” boat comprised Erin Matz (coxswain), Grace Kroner (8 seat),Lauren Kidd (7 seat), Lily Papaleo(6 seat), Stephanie Barber (5 seat), Calista Diguardia (4 seat), Christina Orse (3 seat), Laura Turner(2 seat) and Gina Inverso (bow), finished fourth with a time of 13:43.14 . The Owls' Collegiate 8+“A” boat, comprised of Katie Cardwell (coxswain), Kelly Hill (8 seat), Stephanie Pennypacker (7 seat), Annie Buckley (6 seat), Sarah Barber (5 seat), Megan Boyer (4 seat), Kathy Bostion (3 seat), Samantha Deegan (2 seat) and Claudia Logue (bow), finished second with a time of 12:47.40. The “A” boat finished a mere two seconds behind La Salle, who won with a time of 12:45.05.
The Owls' Collegiate 4+, comprised of Kelsey Franks (coxswain), Moira Meekes (4 seat), Angela Flinn (3 seat), Allison Watkins (2 seat) and Susan O'Neil Coyne (bow), raced uncontested with a time of 14:34.44.
