Paul Carbone Leads Temple Golf to Third Place Finish at Barnabas Health Intercollegiate

CHATHAM, NJ – Sophomore Paul Carbone had his best tournament of the fall, shooting a four-under 146 to lead Temple to a third place finish at the 2012 Barnabas Health Intercollegiate hosted by Seton Hall University at Fairmount Country Club. Carbone carded season best rounds of 73 on both Sunday and Monday and finished tied for fourth overall.
Sophomore Matthew Crescenzo, who shot an even-par 71 to tie for the overall lead after Sunday's first round, carded a six-over 77 on Monday to finish the tournament with a 148 and tied for ninth. Freshman Brandon Matthews was two-over for the final round (73) and seven over for the tournament to finish tied for 12th with a 149. Senior Devin Bibeau (76-78) tied for 24th with a 12-over 154 while sophomore Conor Dunne (82-80, 162/t44th) rounded out the Temple squad.
Saint Peter's won the tournament with a 587, besting second place Long Island by three strokes (590). Temple (597) was seven strokes behind LIU and was followed by St. Francis (PA) (598), Fairleigh Dickinson (605), Monmouth (611), Iona (612), Seton Hall (620), Manhattan (620), Wagner (649) and St. Francis (NY) (683).
