Women's Rowing Competes at Head of Schuylkill Regatta

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple Women's Rowing team competed at the Head of Schuylkill Hill Regatta on October 27th. The Owls weekend was highlighted by the 7th place finish in the Open Heavy Championship 8+.
In the Open 4+ the Owls “A” boat, comprised of Paige O' Sullivan (seat 4), Claudia Loeber (seat 3), Joanna Sutor (seat 2), Kara Carson (bow) and Eleanor Oken (coxswain), finished 10th with a time of 16:19.53. The Owls “B” boat finished 14th in the race with a time of 16:28.49. The “B” boat was comprised of Victoria Joye (seat 4), Jeanine Lees (seat 3), Brittany Adell (seat 2), Calista DiGuardia (bow) and Kelsey Franks (coxswain). Michigan State went on to win the race with a time of 15:20.39.
In the Open Club 8+ the Owls “B” boat lead by Rachel Bookman (coxswain), included Annie Buckley(seat 8), Mary Kathleen Logue (seat 7), Lily Papaleo (seat 6), Sarah Barber (seat 5), Christina Orse (seat 4), Kathy Bostion (seat 3), Megan Boyer (seat 2), and Samantha Deegan (bow). The “B” boat placed 18th in the race with a time of 15:53.20. The Owls “A” boat, comprised of Erin Matz (coxswain), Moira Meeks (seat 8), Stephanie Pennypacker (seat 7), Kelly Hill (seat 6), Lauren Kidd (seat 5), Allison Watkins (seat 4), Susan O'Neil Coyne (seat 3), Grace Kroner (seat 2) and Angela Flinn (bow), finished in 22nd in the race with a time of 16:12.82. Trinity took 1st place with a time of 14:22.52.
The Open Heavy Championship 8+ also included two Owl Boats. The Owls “A” boat, led by Franks (coxswain), included Joye (seat 8), Loeber (seat 7), Sutor (seat 6) , Jeanine Lees (seat 5), Adell (seat 4), DiGuardia (seat 3), O'Sullivan (seat 2), and Carson (bow). The “A” boat finished 7th in the race with a time of 14:19.75. The Owls “B” boat finished the race with a time of 15:46.40, claiming the 24th spot. The Owls “B” boat was comprised of Katie Cardwell (coxswain), Laura Turner (seat 8), Stephanie Barber (seat 7), Watkins (seat 6), Gina Inverso (seat 5), Jackie Lees (seat 4), Kidd (seat 3), Kroner (seat 2), and Flinn (bow).
