Brandon Matthews Earns Third Straight A10 Golf Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - For the third straight week Temple freshman Brandon Matthews has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Rookie of the Week for tournaments played the week of week of Sept. 27 – Oct. 2. Matthews also won the A10 Player of the week the previous week.
Matthews paced Temple and tied for 15th among the 75 participants with his 2-over par 142 (70-72) at Yale's Macdonald Cup in New Haven Conn. The DuPont, Pa., native opened the 6,749-yard layout with an even par 70, before firing 72 over the final 18 holes. On the year, he leads Temple with a 71.2 stroke average over 10 rounds.
