Martinelli And Spurrier Nationally Ranked In Multiple Offensive Categories

PHILADELPHIA – In the latest update of the NCAA statistics, freshman Jared Martinelli and junior Vaughn Spurrier are nationally ranked in multiple offensive categories.
With 19 points and seven assists on the year, Martinelli is first in the nation among all freshmen in both categories. Having 1.73 points per game, the Mechanicsburg, Pa. native is ranked second among all first-year players, while being tied for eighth among all Division I players for assists per game (0.64).
Spurrier is tied for 11th place in the land with six assists through Temple's first 11 games. His average of 0.55 assists per game has him tied for 17th among all Division I players.
Martinelli and Spurrier have combined for 13 assists thus far, which puts them three helpers shy from tying Scott Reiber and Andrew Craig for most assists by a Temple duo. Rieber and Craig combined for 16 assists in 1990.
