THE OPENING TIP
•Temple is coming off a 64-39 loss at #18/19 Nebraska on Nov. 11...The Owls, led by freshman Erica Covile with 10 points, hung with the Cornhuskers in the second half but could not overcome a big first-half deficit.
•The Owls won their season opener on Nov. 9 at home, defeating Montana 55-41...They were led by senior Victoria Macaulay who tied her career high with 21 points while also grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds.
•The Owls had hit at least one three-pointer in 100 straight games, dating back to the first game of the 2009-10 season, but had that streak snapped when they did not hit a single trey at Nebraska.
•Fifth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza has an overall record of 94-39 and is just six wins away from reaching the 100-win milestone.
•Macaulay was selected to the Preseason Atlantic 10 First Team and Preseason Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team.
•The Owls were picked to finish fifth of 16 teams in the 2012-13 A-10 Preseason Poll.
•The Owls will play a total of three non-conference games vs. teams that had RPI's under 50 last year: Rutgers, Nebraska and Georgetown, as well as Michigan State (RPI 62).
•Temple has six freshmen on a roster of 11, making the Owls the second-most inexperienced team in NCAA Division I women's basketball this season.

SCOUTING SETON HALL
The Pirates are coming off a tough season in 2011-12 that saw them finish at 8-23 overall and 1-15 in the BIG EAST. They returned three starters this season, and are now 2-0 with wins over NJIT and Lafayette. Longtime USA Basketball Coach and Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Famer Anne Donovan is in her third season as the head coach at Seton Hall, with a record of 18-45.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Seton Hall leads the series between the two teams by a slim margin of 2-1, and won the most recent meeting on its home court back in 2010. Temple's win was back in 2002 on the Owls' home court.

FRONTCOURT SHINES IN SEASON OPENER
The Owls pulled down 48 rebounds in their season-opening win over Montana on Nov. 9, a number they exceeded only twice in all of the 2011-12 season. Temple's style is less guard-oriented than in the last few years, and the frontcourt shined with the three starting post players combining for 31 rebounds. Senior Victoria Macaulay led the charge with a career-high 16 boards, and Temple out-rebounded Montana 48-31.

FRESHMEN LEAD AT NEBRASKA
In their first-ever game against a nationally-ranked opponent, two of the Owls' freshmen had strong showings. Erica Covile led Temple with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting at #18/19 Nebraska on Nov. 11, also pulling down six boards and leading the team with two steals. Sally Kabengano grabbed a team-best nine rebounds and scored eight points in the contest.

PRESEASON HONORS FOR MACAULAY
Temple's lone senior, Victoria Macaulay, was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason First Team as well as to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Defensive Team. The preseason awards and rankings were a result of voting by the league's 16 head coaches. Macaulay led the team with 7.5 rebounds per game last year, and was third with 9.7 points per game.

TRULY CARDOZA'S TEAM
With this now being her fifth year at Temple, head coach Tonya Cardoza has a team composed entirely of her own recruits for the first time in her career.
