PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior running back Montel Harris and redshirt senior cross country runner Travis Mahoney have been named the Under Armour Owlsports.com Co-Athletes of the Week, for their performances during the week of Nov. 12-18. In what was a difficult vote, the Office of Athletic Communications awarded a rare share of this week's honor between the two athletes.

In Temple's 63-32 win at Army, Harris helped Temple to a record-setting game. He recorded his fourth 100-yard performance as an Owl. He led the Owls in rushing with a career-high 351 yards and a career-best seven touchdowns, both BIG EAST and school records, on 36 carries. He had 173 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in the first half alone.  It marked the 26th 100-yard rushing game of his career (4th at Temple, 22 at Boston College) which leads the nation.  It also marked the first 300-yard rushing performance of his career.

In nine games, Harris is the Owls' leading rusher with 948 yards and 12 touchdowns on 165 carries.  He is also the team scoring leader with 72 points.  Harris also leads the BIG EAST Conference in rushing and scoring.

In the NCAA stats, Harris is No. 25 in rushing (105.33), No. 49 in scoring (8.00), and No. 49 in all-purpose running (117.78).

Additionally, Harris was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, the National Running Back of the Week by the College Football Performance and the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness. He also earned Helmet Stickers from ESPN.

For the second time in six months, Mahoney once again was named an NCAA All-American. Closing out his illustrious five-year running career at Temple University, Mahoney capped it at the pinnacle by becoming the first Owl ever to be dealt the honors in cross country. The Old Bridge, Pa. native ran the 10k course at Saturday's NCAA Championships, held at the University of Louisville, in 29:58.6 to place 37th overall.

Mahoney is the only Temple runner to be named a national All-American in both track and field and cross country. Back in May, Mahoney ran the steeplechase at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in the fifth-fastest to time to earn the title of First Team All-American,

For Mahoney, the book to his five-year career as a runner at Temple came to a close, which entailed a total of seven Atlantic 10 Conference individual championships, three A-10 Outstanding Performer of the Year awards, a USTFCCA Mid-Atlantic Athlete of the Year recognition and now, three NCAA All-American titles.
