PHILADELPHIA – Coming off a strong finish to the 2012 cross country season, Temple Running is prepared to open the indoor track and field season on Saturday when it heads to the Jack Pyrah Invitational at Haverford College on Saturday. This will be the unofficial start to the team's season, as it will have more than a month off before taking on a more consistent slate in the New Year.

The Owls, who are under the direction of head coach Eric Mobley, are returning to action following a very successful 2011-12 track and field season. Based on that success and with a core of several performers that earned high individual placements to lead the team to high finishes, both squads are projected to finish third in the Atlantic 10 Conference during their final indoor season before joining the BIG EAST next fall.

Last season at the Jack Pyrah Invite, the women's side had some outstanding early season performances including sophomore Jenna Dubrow marking a new record in the 3000-meter run. Margo Britton and Alana Owens also had high performing throws with each woman throwing ECAC qualifying marks.
Highlighting the men's side at that meet, Alex McGee opened the season with a first place finish in the 55 meter dash.
