Temple hosts Cincinnati for the teams' first-ever BIG EAST match-up on Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff is set for Noon at Lincoln Financial Field.

The BIG EAST Network (as well as ESPN3) will broadcast the game live with Eamon McAnaney calling the action, David Diaz-Infante providing color commentary, and Paul Carcatera with sideline reports.  The game will be shown locally in Pennsylvania on WPVI-TD2 (LW/Philadelphia).  TV Affiliates in PDF

The Owls' radio broadcast will air on 1210 AM WPHT with Harry Donahue calling the play-by-play and Steve Joachim providing color analysis.

At the game, Temple Athletics will collect gently used clothing (including winter jackets), as well as blankets, diapers, and toiletries [No food items at this time. Thank you.] to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. All items will be donated to the American Red Cross. Drop off boxes will be located outside the North East Gate, Comcast Gate, and the Box Office.

Under the direction of second-year head coach Steve Addazio, Temple stands 3-5 overall and 2-3 in BIG EAST play after a 45-17 loss at No. 12/10 Louisville.  The 2012 Temple squad returns 35 lettermen, including nine starters.  The Owls utilize a multiple offense and a 4-3 defense.

Senior RB Montel Harris (Jacksonville, Fla.) is the Owls' top rusher with 578 yards and five touchdowns on 121 carries.  Sophomore WR Jalen Fitzpatrick (Harrisburg, Pa.) is the top receiver with 22 catches for 291 yards and two touchdowns.  Junior QB Chris Coyer (Oak Hill, Va.) is 79-of-148 for 890 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 410 yards and two TDs. True freshman LB Tyler Matakevich (Stratford, Conn.) is the top defender with 66 tackles, including 40 solo takedowns, and three break-ups.

In this week's national rankings, Temple is ranked among the nation's best in several categories—  No. 23 in kickoff returns (24.91), No. 24 net punting (39.84), and No. 31 sacks (2.59).   Individually, senior RB?Matt Brown is No. 5 in punt returns (15.92), No. 18 in all-purpose running (150.00), and No. 34 in kickoff returns (25.43), while senior PK Brandon McManus (Hatfield, Pa.) is No. 12 in punting (44.38) and No. 28 in field goals (1.38).

Under the tutelege of third-year coach and 2011 BIG EAST Coach of the Year Butch Jones, Cincinnati is 6-2 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST play after a 35-24 win over Syracuse.  The Bearcats return 13 starters to their spread offense and multiple defense. Cincinnati has won three of the last four BIG EAST Championships and has played in a bowl game in five of the last six seasons.  

Among the Top 25, Cincinnati is ranked No. 9 in kickoff returns (26.83), No. 16 in rushing offense (226.63), No. 17 in punt returns (13.17), No. 17 in sacks allowed (1.00), No. 19 in sacks (2.75), and No. 24 in scoring defense (19.88). Senior RB George Winn, this week's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, is No. 18 in rushing (112.12), while junior WR Anthony McClung in No. 21 in punt returns (11.29). Sophomore RB Ralph David Abernathy IV is No. 20 in kickoff returns (27.05) and No. 25 in all-purpose running (142.50).  Senior LB Greg Blair is No. 13 in tackles (10.38).

Senior RB George Winn is Cincinnati's top back (and the BIG EAST leader) with 897 yards and seven touchdowns on 153 carries.  Senior WR Kenbrell Thompkins has 23 receptions for 338 yards and a touchdown. Junior QB Munchie Legaux is 120-of-230 for 1,716 yards and 13 touchdowns.  Senior LB Greg Blair leads all BIG EAST defenders with 83 tackles, four break-ups, and two interceptions. The Bearcats have eclipsed 425 yards of total offense in seven of their eight games this season.

TEMPLE-CINCINNATI CONNECTIONS
Cincinnati coach Butch Jones served as head coach at Central Michigan from 2007-09 when Temple also played in the Mid-American Conference.  During those three seasons, the schools only met once with CMU claiming a 24-14 win on Oct. 10, 2008, in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Temple has no players on its roster from Ohio.

Cincinnati has three players on its roster from Pennsylvania but none from Philadelphia. Senior TE Demetrius Richardson (Marlton, N.J. / Cherokee HS) is the only Bearcat player from the tri-state area.

TEMPLE-CINCINNATI— THE SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 15th meeting between the Owls and Bearcats (and first in BIG EAST play) in a series that began in 1973. Temple holds a 9-4-1 series advantage. It also the teams' first game at Lincoln Financial Field.

In the teams' last meeting in 2003, the squads went to triple overtime to break a 28-28 tie. Temple missed a field goal in each OT period.  UC missed its first field goal and had its second blocked before scoring a touchdown for the 30-24 win at Nippert Stadium. Three Owls— Zamir Cobb, Phil Goodman, and Terrence Stubbs— each posted 100-plus receiving yards, while QB Mike McGann threw for 338 yards.

Temple has posted an average margin of victory of 14.8 points in its nine series wins.  The Owls had scored in double figures in every outing against the Bearcats and averaged (29.0) points in the last nine meetings.
