Men and Women's Gymnastics Volunteers at Special Olympics
11.8.12 | Men's Gymnastics, Women's Gymnastics
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Temple men's and women's gymnastics teams took a short trip to Villanova University this weekend to help out at the Special Olympics' Fall Fest.
On both Saturday night and Sunday morning, the teams helped to serve meals to the athletes and then put their cheering to the test on the sidelines of the soccer field and the volleyball court.
Senior Alex Tighe, a volunteer for the Special Olympics since freshman year of high school in honor of his brother, who is of special needs, has brought over 100 volunteers to this event every year since he has arrived at Temple.
Tighe and both the men's and women's teams alike hope to continue this tradition and make the annual trip to Villanova for years to come.
