Shey Peddy Earns Philadelphia Big 5 Women's Basketball Player of the Week Award

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Shey Peddy of Temple with the Big 5 Women's Player of the Week award for games played between Feb. 20-26. Peddy has earned the honor multiple times this season, and helped lead the Owls to a pair of A-10 and Big 5 wins this past week.

Peddy averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists in a 2-0 week for the Owls. She tied her career high with 31 points in a 75-65 win at Saint Joseph's, hitting 12-of-18 from the field and 5-of-6 at the line to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

She hit 5-of-6 from the field including her only three-point attempt in a 71-44 win at La Salle to close out the regular season, finishing with 12 points, four boards and three steals in just 25 minutes of action.

Temple concluded the regular season with a record of 20-8, and the Owls' next game is Saturday, March 3 in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Buick Atlantic 10 Championships. Temple will play either seventh-seeded Duquesne or 10th-seeded George Washington at 5:00 p.m. at Hagan Arena on the campus of Saint Joseph's University.
