Golf Places 21st after Day One at Furman Intercollegiate

3.16.12 | Men's Golf

GREENVILLE, SC - The Temple golf team struggled in its spring season debut, placing 21st after the first round of play at the Furman Intercollegiate Friday.

Junior Devin Bibeau and freshman Paul Carbone each shot rounds of six-over 78 to tie for 100th overall.  Freshman Mike Amole was two strokes back (80) and tied for 113th while sophomore Matthew Crescenzo carded an 81, tying for 119th. Sophomore Russell Hartung rounded out the Owls squad (88, 12th place).

As a team, Temple combined for 317, 29 over-par.  Troy leads the strong field of 21 teams with a two-under score of 286. 

Play resumes tomorrow in the three-day event.
