Owls and Crimson set to meet for the first time at 6:00 p.m. in McGonigle Hall

PHILADELPHIA - Fans have yet another chance to see Temple women's basketball in action at home, as the Owls (22-9) will host Harvard (18-11) in the WNIT Second Round on Saturday, March 17 at 6:00 p.m. in McGonigle Hall. There will also be a FREE live webcast of the game HERE, and live stats are available HERE. To keep up with all the action in the WNIT, visit www.womensnit.com.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students/groups. Tickets can be purchased at the Liacouras Center box office or by calling the sales office at 215-204-8499. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on but only cash will be accepted at McGonigle Hall. Fans who wish to purchase tickets with a credit card need to purchase them in the Liacouras Center box office, which will be open at game time.
The winner of the game will advance to the third round to face either Drexel, Hartford or Syracuse, with game date, time and site TBA.
The Owls advanced to the second round by virture of a 75-60 win vs. Quinnipiac in the WNIT First Round on Thursday night. It was the third straight year Temple has won its first game of the postseason, as the Owls captured NCAA First Round wins in both 2010 and 2011.
THE OPENING TIP
•Temple is 22-9 overall and has now won 20 or more games for a ninth straight season...The Owls finished the A-10 season in second place at 13-1, and had won 14 straight before having that streak snapped in a 66-63 loss to Dayton in the A-10 Semifinals.
•The Owls are now 5-3 all-time in the WNIT, with their last appearance prior to this season coming in a narrow, 59-57 loss at James Madison in the first round in 2001.
•Shey Peddy hit the 1,000-point mark in just her Temple career (two years) with a game-high 21 points vs. Quinnpiac in the Owls' WNIT First-Round win two days ago...She now has 1,001 as an Owl and 1,855 overall.
•Kristen McCarthy recorded a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds against Quinnipiac while Brittany Lewis scored 11 points, grabbed 11 boards and came one assist shy of a triple-double with a career-high nine assists...Victoria Macaulay scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting in the win.
•The Owls' lone loss in regular season A-10 play was to now-#21/25 St. Bonaventure, and it was only Temple's second regular-season A-10 loss since the 2009-10 season.
•Peddy's 69 three-pointers rank first on the program's all-time single-season record list.
•BJ Williams, who now ranks sixth all-time in the program for career assists with 357, leads all players in the A-10 with 147 assists (4.9 per game).
•Peddy leads all players in the A-10 with 17.3 ppg and ranks second in steals with 99 (3.2 per game).
•Harvard is 18-11 overall and riding a five-game win streak coming into tonight's contest...The Crimson defeated Hofstra 73-71 two nights ago for their first-ever WNIT win and second postseason victory in the program's history...Senior Brogan Berry, averaging 12.6 ppg this season, led Harvard with 26 points in the win while the team's leading scorer, sophomore Christine Clark (15.5 ppg) scored 23 points against Hofstra.
