PHILADELPHIA - Temple University women's rowing head coach Jason Read continues his professional recognition by becoming one of nine semi-finalists for the 81st AAU Sullivan Award. Voting for the award is open to the public through USAToday.com from now through March 9 at midnight. The winner will be announced March 20 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City.
Along with Read, this year's nominees include: Betsy Armstrong, David Boudia, Jillian Camaerna-Williams, Kaliya Johnson, Alex Jupiter, Katherine Reutter, Andrew Rodriguez and Jordyn Wieber.

Every year since 1930, the AAU Sullivan Award has honored the nation's outstanding amateur athletes from a variety of sports, based on character, leadership and sportsmanship.
Read, currently pilots the women's rowing program at Temple while concurrently training for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He has been a member of U.S. Rowing since 1995 and is a volunteer firefighter and EMT.
