Temple Hosts Drexel and Williams College on the Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's rowing continued its spring season hosting Drexel and Williams College on the Schuylkill River on Saturday March 31. The regatta was a 2,000-meter heat in 45-degree weather with light rain. There were no Varsity 8+ races due to Temple and Drexel competing in the San Diego Crew Classic.
The Owls Junior Varsity 8+ comprised of Jillian Malkowski (coxswain), Gina Inverso (stroke), Allison Boc (seat-7), Sarah Barber (seat-6), Kara Jackson (seat-5), Kara Carson (seat-4), Megan Boyer (seat-3), Angela Flinn (seat-2) and Moira Meekes (bow) placed third with a time of 7:02, three seconds behind Drexel. Williams College won the race with a time of 6:48.
The 3rd Varsity 8+ comprised of Erin Elizabeth Matz (coxswain) Kelsey Joniec (stroke), Blair Bradley (seat-7), Allison Watkins (seat-6), Lauren Kidd (seat-5), Caroline Slusarczyk (seat-4), Susan O'Neil Coyne (seat-3), Kate Taylor (seat-2), and Sarah Jennings (bow) also placed third with a time of 7:17. Williams College won the race with a time of 7:01.
The Owls Frosh/Novice 8+ comprised of Samantha Deegan (coxswain), Annie Buckley (stroek), Stephanie Pennypacker (seat-7), Rikia Trischuk (seat-6), Kelly Hill (seat-5), Aryann Cuda (seat-4), Mary Kathleen Logue (seat-3), Leesa Charlton (seat-2), and Margot Salter (bow) placed third with a time of 7:50. Drexel won with a time of 7: 06.
The Cherry and White Varsity 4+ comprised of Katie Cardwell (coxswain), Kelsey Joniec (seat-4), Blair Bradley (seat-3), Allison Watkins (seat-2) and Sarah Jennings (bow) finished second with a time of 8:05. Drexel won the race with a time of 7:51
