Temple is coming off a 1-1 week with a narrow, 14-13 loss to #18 Princeton followed by a 13-9 A-10 win against city rival La Salle. Stephanie Markunas is the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after scoring four goals and recording five assists in the two games. Markunas leads the team with 39 points this season (21 goals, 18 assists) while Stephany Parcell is the Owls' scoring leader with 27 goals. Eight other players have scored at least 10 goals, including Karly Cohen with 19 goals and 10 assists so far this year.

Tess Bishop has started every game in goal for the Owls, and had two of her best outings of the season last week with eight saves against Princeton and 11 in the win over La Salle. For conference games, Temple is leading the A-10 in goals against average after allowing its three opponents an average of just 9.00 goals per game.

George Washington is coming off back-to-back losses to #19 Massachusetts and Richmond. The Colonials got their lone A-10 win so far against Saint Joseph's, in overtime by a score of 10-9. Senior Sarah Phillips leads the team in points with 57 (28 goals and 29 assists) which ranks second among all players in the A-10. Senior Megan Seidman leads GW in scoring with 29 goals.

Temple is 8-2 all-time against GW, and has won the last two meetings between the teams. Last year the Owls defeated the Colonials 13-10 at home, and in 2010 they got an 11-7 road win.

Richmond, who will play La Salle on Friday before facing Temple on Sunday, is currently 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the A-10. Freshman Emily Doyle was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week after recording six points (1 goal, 5 assists) in Richmond's 18-17 win over GW last week. Sam Stevenson leads Richmond overall in goals (35) assists (21) and points (56).
