Golf Places Ninth at Princeton Invitational with Strong Final Round

PRINCETON, NJ - The Temple golf team had a strong final round Sunday at the Princeton Invitational, carding a seven-over 291 on the 6,390-yard, par 71 Springdale Golf Club to move up three places and finish in ninth overall in the 14-team field.
Junior Devin Bibeau (70-77-71,218) shot an even par 71 to lead the Owls Sunday. He also led the Cherry and White for the Invitational, tying for 14th overall. Freshman Paul Carbone (74-78-72, 224) and sophomore Matthew Crescenzo (77-75-72, 224) carded one-over rounds of 72 and finished tied for 34th overall while freshman Mike Amole (79-80-76, 235) ended tied for 62nd. Sophomore Russell Hartung (83-78-81, 242) rounded out the Owls squad in 71st place.
Yale won the Invitational with a score of 858, edging Georgetown by one stroke (859) and Columbia by two strokes (860). Princeton (578) was in fourth place followed by Harvard (870), Penn (874), Dartmouth (874), Cornell (896), Temple (899), Princeton B (904), Brown (905), Rutgers (913), Saint Joseph's (914) and Rider (939).
Dartmouth's Peter Williamson, who shot a four-under 67 on Sunday, led the field with a five-under 208.
Next up for the Owls is the Century Intercollegiate on April 21-22.
