Britton Maintains A-10 Rookie of the Week Status

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second consecutive week, the Atlantic 10 Conference has once again named freshman Margo Britton its Rookie of the Week. At the Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday, the York, Pa. native shattered a Temple school record for the second straight week. A week after being named A-10 Rookie of the Week, Britton claimed first-place in the discus throw with a toss of 156' 10'' to shatter the previous school record by more than five feet, held by Ebony Moore.
Britton, who won the conference's shot put title during the indoor season, broke the school's outdoor shot put record last week, helping her to win her first A-10 Rookie of the Week honor.
On this week's A-10 honor roll, Britton joins Duquesne's Alex Gladysiewski, who was named the Men's Rookie of the Week, Rhode Island's Trent Baltzell and Charlotte's Joann Blakney were named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
