Golf Stands on 12th Place After First Day at Wildcat Invitational

MALVERN, PA - The Temple golf team completed its first day of the two-day Wildcat Invitational Monday in 12th place in the 14-team field with a score of 647. The Owls were one shot ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Joseph's, who tied for 13th with scores of 648. The teams will conclude the tournament, which is being held at the White Manor Country Club, Tuesday.
Sophomore Matthew Crescenzo led the Owls and was tied for 39th with a 15-over par 157 (78-79). Junior Devin Bibeau (81-79, 160) is three strokes back and tied for 45th overall. Freshman Paul Carbone (81-81, 162) is two behind Bibeau and tied for 54th while freshman Mike Amole (83-85, 168) and Conor Dunne (92-91, 183) rounded out the Owls squad in 68th and 76th place, respectively.
Matthew Turner of Ohio State led the field with a two-under 140 (72-68) with Villanova's Steve Skurla four shots back and in second place (77-67, 144).
Ohio State is in first place after two rounds with a 602 team score. Delaware is one shot back (603) with St. John's just three behind in third place with a 605.
