Golf In 8th Place at Century Intercollegiate After First Day

PURCHASE, NY - The Temple golf team placed eighth out of nine teams after the first round of the Century Intercollegiate Saturday afternoon. The tournament, held at the 6,950-yard, par 71 Century Country Club concludes Sunday.
Junior Devin Bibeau led the Owls and tied for 15th overall with a six-over 77. Freshman Paul Carbone was second for Temple and tied for 28th overall with a 79. Sophomore Matthew Crescenzo was two strokes back with an 82 (41st). Sophomore Russell Hartung (83) and freshman Mike Amole (86) rounded out the Owls squad in 46th and 52nd placed, respectively. tied for 68th.
Rhode Island leads the tournament with a 296 while Dartmouth golfer Peter Williamson is the overall leader with a three-under 68. Dartmouth was second with a 301 and was followed by Yale (303), Harvard (305), Princeton (307), Brown (312), Cornell (321), Temple (322) and Yale II (329).
