MALVERN, PA - The Temple golf team had its best round of the two-day Wildcat Invitational Tuesday, combining for a 317, but the Owls still finished in 14th place in the 14-team field with a score of 964. Ohio State won the tournament held at the White Manor Country Club with a score of 890, besting Delaware and St, John's, who tied for second with 901 scores.
Temple was two shots behind A-10 and city-rival Saint Joseph's (962) and four back of Fairleigh Dickinson (960).
Sophomore Matthew Crescenzo led the Owls and was tied for 39th with a 23-over par 236 (78-79-79). Freshman Paul Carbone (81-81-78, 240) was four strokes back and in 53rd place overall. Junior Devin Bibeau (81-79-82, 242) was third for the Owls and tied for 56th overall. Freshmen Mike Amole (83-85-78, 246) and Conor Dunne (92-91-86, 269) rounded out the squad in 64th and 76th place, respectively.
Matthew Turner of Ohio State led the field with a one-under 212 (72-68-72) with St. John's Ryan McCormick seven shots back and in second place (76-70-73, 219).
