Dubrow Sets Another School Record As Track & Field Competes at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Twenty-five members of the Temple Track and Field program went to the University of Florida for a weekend of relay events at Percy Beard Track. In this meet, the Owls chosen to take part in these events went up against high-caliber national competition.
The biggest highlight on the day was freshman Jenna Dubrow breaking the school's outdoor record time in the 1500 meter run with her personal best running time of 4:36.17 to surpassing Nancy Denka's time of 4:36.30 set back in 1982.
On the men's side sophomore Josh McFrazier ran the 110 meter hurdles in an IC4A qualifying time of 14.33.
Over the course of the first day of the event on Friday, the Owls had impressive performances on both the men and women's side, as three competitors met qualifying standards, while five others set personal bests.
Junior Jade Wilson put up an ECAC qualifying time in the 400 meter hurdles with her personal best time of 1:00.03, just beating her classmate who also met qualifying standard in the event with her time of 1:01.90.
Rounding out the women's highlights, juniors Tonney Smith and Isatta Kenneh also ran an event in a personal best time. In the 800 meter hurdles, Smith crossed the finish line in 2:12.33, while Kenneh blazed through the 100 meter dash in 12.14.
Racing in the men's events, freshman Cullen Davis set a new personal best time in the 1500 meter run with a quick 3:53.16.
In the discus throw, senior Brian Littlepage hurled a mark of 47.38 meters, roughly 155 feet, for a new personal best.
Senior Louis Parisi also had an impressive run, as he finished the 800 meter run in a season-fastest time of 1:52.54.
Temple's participants in the Florida Relays will be back in action again on Saturday. Sophomore Gabe Pickett, who was off from competition on Friday, will be going for the Owls in the triple jump.
