A total of 139 Temple University student-athletes participated in Thursday's 125th annual Commencement ceremonies at the Liacouras Center. The Commencement exercises celebrated the achievements of the largest graduating class in Temple history with a total of 8,668 graduates.

Among those participating were women's basketball team member Kristen McCarthy (La Puente, Calif.), a three-time All-Atlantic 10 Conference and All-Big 5 honoree; men's basketball team players Ramone Moore (Philadelphia, Pa.), team captain and two-time All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection, and Jake Godino (Chester, Pa.), the 2012 Owl Club Academic Award recipient; women's fencing All-American Kamali Thompson (Teaneck, N.J.), the 2012 PNC Female Student-Athlete of the Year; and football's Wayne Tribue (York, Pa.), an AFCA Good Works Team member.

“It is a day of celebration for Temple Athletics,” Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw said. “Our coaching staffs are to be congratulated for playing critical roles in the student-athletes' success on and off the field of competition. We are most proud of our student-athletes' success in the classroom. This is a reflection of a reorganized academic support system which has helped bolster our APR scores.”

The 139 student-athletes represented all 24 of Temple's intercollegiate sports. Football had the most graduates with 19, followed by baseball and men's crew with 11 each, and women's lacrosse with 10.  The numbers include fall 2011 and summer 2012 graduates.

In celebration of the accomplishments of the graduating seniors, Temple Athletics hosted a reception following graduation exercises for the student-athletes and their families.
