Temple Athletics Shattering Record Fundraising Revenue
5.16.12 | General
Led by a committed group of alumni and friends, in just ten months, Temple Athletics has already far surpassed previous record fundraising revenues and donor figures.
Comparing the end of April 2012 to the previous record year in 2011, the total number of donors to Temple Athletics has increased from 2,241 to 4,570 – a remarkable 104% growth. Even more telling, these individuals have contributed a total of over $3.6 million to date – a tremendous 121% increase over April 2011's mark of $1.6 million.
“We are witnessing an historic outpouring of support and excitement toward Temple Athletics,” said Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw. “I cannot say 'thank you' enough to our incredibly generous volunteers, alumni and friends who help provide our student-athletes with a premier collegiate experience.”
This support has allowed Temple to open a new state-of-the-art practice facility for Men's and Women's Basketball and an expanded practice facility for Temple's BIG EAST-bound football program, scheduled to re-open in July.
“Nothing we do would be possible without the support of our loyal donors,” Bradshaw said. “But we know our work here is not yet done. There has never been a better time to encourage neighbors, co-workers, former classmates and everyone else to join in support of Temple – the Time is Now!”
In the fulfillment of Temple University's mission, Temple Athletics Development strives to clearly demonstrate the vision of the University and the opportunities to invest in the betterment of its student-athletes. All are invited to make a tax-deductible contribution to Temple Athletics prior to the end of the Fiscal Year on June 30 by calling 215-204-2477 or visiting www.TempleOwlClub.com!
