Women's Rowing To Compete at A10 Championships Saturday

Owls to compete in record number of events at A10s
PENNSAUKEN, NJ - The Temple University women's rowing team will compete with in a school-record number of events at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championships this Saturday, May 5 at the Cooper River. The Owls will also have the most number of rowers competing at the event which begins at 8 a.m.
"The A10 Championships will witness the most exciting race action of the 2012 season thus far." said Temple first-year coach Jason Read. "The competition is severe, but we are fully prepared to do our very best to get down the 2000 meter Olympic-caliber race course as fast as possible following a grueling week of training and final exams. The team is itching to improve upon its 2011 results by racing more aggressively and tactically than at any other point this season. We are excited to see many alumnae, parents, and Temple administrators tomorrow who will be cheering us on from the shores of the Cooper River."
In all, 42 Temple women's rowers will compete in eight events as the Owls look to improve upon their 2011 seventh-place finish.
The A-10 Championship schedule is as follows:

8:10 a.m.- Varsity 8
8:30 a.m.- 2nd Varsity 8
8:50 a.m.- Varsity 4
Finals:
11:30 a.m.- Varsity 8
11:50 a.m.- 2nd Varsity 8
12:10 p.m.- Varsity 4
12:20 p.m.- Varsity 4-B
12:55 p.m.- Novice 4
1:05 p.m.- Quad
1:45 p.m.- Awards Ceremony
