PHILADELPHIA –
For the second-straight year, Temple men's tennis player Kacper Rams is one of six student-athletes who have been selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Tennis Team. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.

Haverford's Kevin Caulfield was tabbed the 2012 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Tennis Performer of the Year.

Rams boasts a 3.77 GPA with a major in finance, and in 2011 was named a member of Temple's Trustee Ten, an honor given to the top-ten student-athletes in terms of GPA at TU. A two-time Atlantic 10 academic all-conference member, Rams finished the season with a team best 16 singles wins, going 16-16 overall, and earned a spot on the A-10 second-team all-conference team. He played the majority of his matches at No. 2, but was called upon to move up to the first flight when brother Filip Rams' injuries prevented him from playing. Kacper and Filip teamed up to post a 12-7 doubles record, while the junior also paired up with four other teammates throughout the year to go 7-2 for a 19-9 overall doubles record. In three years, Rams has accumulated a 48-43 career singles record and 63-25 doubles mark.
