7.10.12 | Men's Tennis

Brother duo ranked 10th in doubles in the Atlantic Region

PHILADELPHIA – The duo of senior Filip and junior Kacper Rams, a pair of brothers from Katowice, Poland, finished the 2011-12 men's tennis season with a regional ranking of 10th in the Atlantic Region. The final rankings were released on Wednesday, June 6, by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

In doubles play, Filip teamed up with younger brother Kacper to go 12-7 at the first flight. The pair reached a national rank of #80 at one point this season. Both players earned all conference honors from the Atlantic 10 for their performances throughout the season with Filip making the first team and Kacper a member of the second team.

Filip finished his Temple career with a 75-37 singles record and a 79-34 doubles mark. He posted an 11-11 overall singles mark during an injury-plagued season. With his spot on the first team, Filip becomes just the second Temple player to earn four-straight all-league nods, and the first ever to make the first team all four years. The senior captain played all of his singles matches at the No. 1 position.

Kacper finished the year with a team-best 16 singles wins, going 16-16 overall. Playing the majority of his matches at No. 2, he was called upon to move up to the first flight when Filip's injuries prevented him from playing. Kacper posted a respectable 3-3 record while playing his first-ever Temple matches at No. 1. The 3.77 finance major has accumulated a 48-43 career singles record and 63-25 doubles mark in three years.

Temple finished the year 9-10 overall, going 4-2 against Atlantic 10 teams.
